Caldwell County Hospital | Princeton, KY
AHFD Guides Hospital to a Successful New Beginning
By 2008, the 57-year-old Caldwell County Hospital was showing its age. The facility wasn't able to keep up with current healthcare delivery needs and did not offer a lot of room for expansion. AHFD was the project management firm that helped guide the replacement hospital through its planning and construction process. Key to the hospital's success was securing a USDA Rural Development Facility Loan guarantee.
AHFD's leadership helped guide the hospital through a stressful project beginning as the economic crisis hit the bond market and delayed the financial closing. Despite this initial delay, AHFD was able to lead the hospital to a successful project finish that was on time and on budget. The hospital boasts an impressive cost per foot and now features 25 private rooms and eight separate rooms for emergency care.
“Caldwell County Hospital's relationship with AHFD has been a win-win situation from day one. Not only did our AHFD Master Facility Plan help us see that a new facility was within reach – financially and otherwise – but also our AHFD Project Management team ensured that the project stayed on schedule and on budget. Caldwell County Hospital really benefitted from AHFD's hands-on assistance and years of experience.” – Charles Lovell, CEO, Caldwell County Hospital
