Amery Regional Medical Center Goes Green
American Health Facilities Development (AHFD) is proud to announce Amery Regional Medical Center, located in Amery, WI, as one of 130 hospitals world wide to receive the distinguished designation of Green Guide Public Registered Project. The Green Guide for Healthcare (GGHC) is the premiere building guide for the healthcare industry that has integrated environmentally conscious buildings with design elements that enhance patient healing and staff well being.

After more than three years of planning and seventeen months of construction, Amery Regional Medical Center completed its new campus in October 2007. Under the direction of AHFD, Amery constructed a “start-of-the-art” health care facility, designed and constructed with an environmentally friendly and patient concentric focus. In addition to its beautiful new campus, Amery has now also received the recognition it deserves to serve as a premiere hospital example that other communities interested in keeping the environment in the fore front of their construction plans will emulate.
Steve Rutland, AHFD Vice President, and Amery Regional’s project manager, states, “It is always refreshing to work on a project where the Board and the community are focused on low impact development. AHFD works expertly in creating an environment where this discussion can come to light and then pushes forward to implement the overall plan that will satisfy not only hospital investors, but that will enhance the community as a whole.” Steve continues, “On this particular project we would not have had the satisfactory experience that we did, had we not gone green.”
